One of the many, many reasons the nerd world fell in love with Deadpool is the fact that he’s always cracking a joke and doesn’t take anything seriously – thankfully the movie is going down the same route.
Everything the studio has released so far concerning the Merc with the Mouth has lived up to the moniker. Whether the movie is poking fun at Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern suit (how Meta!) or berating Wade for looking like the offspring of Freddy Krueger and topographical map of Utah, it all points to the tongue being firmly placed in the cheek with this one.
Plus, they can really play with the R rating in terms of how they go for laughs, a little bit like Kick-Ass did but on a whole other level. That alone will give the film a well warranted comedic edge – which is good news for anybody who isn’t a fan of that irksome Avengers banter. Hurrah!
