With Deadpool set to be released this week, Warner Bros. may have taken advantage and aligned a sixth Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer alongside their rival comic book movie.
I’ll let you in on a little secret. The whole world has gone absolutely bonkers for Deadpool. Hell, so have we! But it’s not just us who have noticed the movie’s insane popularity, other movie studios are seemingly paying attention as well.
According to a Deluxe Technicolor cinema listing, the Warner Bros. movie studio may have aligned itself with Fox’s R rated comic book flick. It’s suggested that the final trailer for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice will be attached to Wade Wilson’s on-screen reboot.
There’s been no official announcement as of yet, but it makes sense from a marketing perspective. Both movies are arguably the most anticipated superhero outings of 2016 and target the same demographic. That being said, it’s hard to imagine that any Deadpool fans will be oblivious to that movie’s upcoming release.
If the listing is to be believed, this will be the sixth trailer for Dawn of Justice and will run for 2 minutes and 19 seconds. But that isn’t the only DC news concerning the Deadpool release. The same source also mentions a Suicide Squad promo, meaning Warner Bros. could be well represented before the Merc with the Mouth even hits the screen.
Considering there weren’t any dedicated Warner Bros. TV spots accompanying the Super Bowl this year (you can read our complete run down of the best and worst here), it’s safe to assume that there will be a huge marketing push for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Whether a six trailer airs alongside Deadpool remains to be seen. However don’t be surprised to be a tonne of promos and marketing material concerning the Caped Crusader and the Man of Steel before the movie’s release on March 25.
