The reports are in from Captain America: Civil War test screenings and apparently they’re positivity is through the roof. See the full details below.
The word through the grapevine is that Marvel has begun test screening the first movie from their Phase 3 adventure, and so far people are absolutely loving it. Surprised? Yeah me neither. Reports are coming out that the movie has received the best scores of any of the other Marvel movies that precede it – even better than the previous highest scorer, Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
However, even as I type this and despite the overwhelming positivity, Civil War is undergoing reshoots. Now don’t get your knickers in a twist, this has long since been the practice of Marvel and Disney who’ve made a habit of scheduling time for last minute tweaks and changes. It remains to see how much they’ll actually reshoot, but judging by how much audiences seem to be tripping over themselves, I doubt it’ll be much more than the odd scenery shot here and there.
The reaction was first reported by the folks over at BirthMoviesDeath. They received the intel from five sources about the advanced screenings, all of which have tested better than any Marvel to date. They also claim that Marvel isn’t holding back with this one at all.
Apparently the third act of Captain America: Civil War is said to be utterly devastating, and brings about plenty of change regarding the characters we know from the first two Phases and the ones that’ll make it to the next one. It’s been rumored that some Marvel execs were pessimistic about this film treading darker and grittier territory than those that came before it, but these test screenings should put those fears to rest.
Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War opens in UK cinemas on April 29, 2016.
