Harry Potter fans have been celebrating this weekend at A Celebration of Harry Potter, where they were joined by wizarding legends Rupert Grint, Evanna Lynch, Matthew Lewis, Katie Leung and Bonnie Wright, who gave us insight into their time spent making the films.
The latest film set in the Harry Potter universe stars Oscar-winner Eddie Redmayne as lead character Newt Scamander – a magizoologist on a trip around the world in search of magical creatures. Set in 1920s New York, the film looks to be a fresh take on the wizarding world but with that same wonder and mystical nostalgia we’ve come to expect from the franchise.
Unlike the previous films, Fantastic Beasts marks the first screenplay written by J.K. Rowling herself. As those familiar with the books will already know, the script is based on the textbook used in Hogwarts entitled ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’. The film has been shot at Warner Bros Studios Leavesden – the same studios that gave life to the previous Harry Potter movies. Some scenes were even filmed in Liverpool, England – home of the What’s In Film HQ! If this new snippet of footage is anything to go by, fans and old cast members alike should be excited to see an enchanting addition to the franchise!
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will be released November 18, 2016.
