1. 30 Days of Night (David Slade, 2007)
Number one, I hear you cry? Like I said, these are in no particular order, so keyboard warriors calm down.
Set in a small town in Northern Alaska when the sun sets and doesn’t rise for another 30 days, those who remain to stay during the dark period find themselves the main course on a vampire gang’s dinner date. It does drag at times, but this isolated and moody horror doubles up on blood, guys and gore when the story grows tired.
Like most films on the list, it’s visual aesthetics are a sight to behold, especially the make-up design on Danny Huston’s bloodsucking tribe.
Do you agree with these grizzly comic book offerings on the list? What other movies should we have included to get you in the mood for Deadpool? Sound off in the comments section below.
