8. Kick-Ass (Matthew Vaughn, 2010)
Aaron Taylor-Johnson is the painfully inept nerd hero with a death wish in this rollicking comic book movie. He stars as Dave Lizewski, a high school outcast who dons a wet suit and mask and makes it his mission to fight crime… even though he has no skills or training.
Matthew Vaughn brings a blistering pace to proceedings, allowing the movie to bounce along at pace, but it’s Chloe Grace Moretz and Nicolas Cage who steal the show. As a foul-mouthed and uber-violent father/daughter crime-fighting duo, they single handedly earn Kick-Ass’s R rating, and blow a few brains out along the way.
I think it’s safe to assume there’ll be similar levels of depravity, comedy and violence in Deadpool.
