2. Sin City (Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez, 2005)
Of all the adaptations to grace this list, Sin City is the only one that looks like it could have been ripped from the pages of the comic book. Shot in a black and white colour palette with splashes of red (and yellow in the case of one particularly grotesque character), Sin City is a collection of four interconnected stories that feature the good, the bad and most depraved of this terrible dwelling in all their over-the-top stylized glory.
Mickey Rourke is almost unrecognisable as the tough-as-nails Marv, and no doubt steals the show with a physical and charismatic performance.
